DRAGON*CON 2002

Dragon Con 2002 was my first convention. It was quite the experience. From all that I have experienced in my life, I can say that I was only surprised at a few of the things that I saw there: the skimpy costumes, the number of people, and the Hyatt outdoor lobby antics.
As for the experience, I was in awe at the numbers of Troopers that turned out. That in itself was worth going to Dragon Con. There was so much to do and so much to see, that four days was not enough to do it all. And I was only there for three days.
The Marriott Lobby is breathtaking. At first, when I looked up, I thought it was only ten stories. I did not realalize how far up it went until later in the day when I happened to look up at the ivy planters cascading down from the 41st floor to make a carpet of greenery 15 stories tall. The glass elevators added to the overall effect. Anyone going to the Dragon Con should stay at the Marriott.

I missed out on a lot of the 501st activities. But those that I did attend were a lot of fun and well worth it.
One of the events not pictured here was the Hot Tub Party hosted by Zippy. Mon Calamari Cami did the singles synchronized swim and Mon Calamari Zippy was boiled in the hot tub. "Virginia is for Lovers" was a theme spread around the hot tub. A few of the visiting non 501STers wanted to think so. A few scared "boys" were eyeing a sure of herself "girl" whom told it like she thought it was. The "boys" left and the "girl" later joined the last visiting people to the pool, whom we saw found birthday suits the best swim wear. Confused. Don't be. Just tune in to the next episode of Hot Tub Party.

Featured below are the events I experienced. It was necessary to split up the events due to the large number of pictures that I took.
