IMAX ATTACK OF THE CLONES

RICHMOND IMAX

Garrison Tyranus took the Richmond IMAX by the Force. A good time was had by the fans and the Garrison members. The theatre staff was very happy and impressed with us. The first crowd to see the 5 PM showing exited the theatre to Stormtroopers, Imperial Officers, a Bounty Hunter, a Jedi and a Tusken Raider. They were awe struck to witness our appearance after having just seen the movie.

As more troopers arrived, we made our way to the street in front of Imax to the response of car horns and waving arms.

As the 9:30 PM show time was fast approaching more and more fans came into the theatre and found us waiting for them. There were just as many looks and stares of disbelief as there were awe struck fans running up to us and exclaiming, "how cool is that?" Small interchanges played out between a Stormtrooper and a Tusken Raider about Imperial relocation program from desert to savannah and then the Tusken was assaulted by Anakin Skywalker is a mock confrontation. Photos were taken and Imperial Citations were issued to receptive fans while their friends laughed and grinned.

Our Garrison Table handed out the Bantha Tracks promo and were treated to past exploits of Garrison Tyranus.

We raised a small donation for the ASK charity www.askweb.org. the Association to Support Kids with Cancer by raffling off a Darth Maul statue. The winner was announced prior to the start of the movie and the whole audience clapped and cheered as the winner walked up the steps to receive the prize.

A small mix up left us without seats, so we were treated to the balcony seating. The movie started...TOTALLY BREATH TAKING! Sent shivers down the back of your neck to hear the music and see a 60 foot image of Star Wars logo zoom into infinity!

The Coruscant speeder chase and the Slave 1 chasing the Jedi Star Fighter through the asteroids was by far the best visual scenes for the IMAX screen! They were absolutley breathtaking!

Too bad about the cut scenes, cannot wait for IMAX to go digital and show the entire movie along with the rest of the two trilogies!

A special thanks to Paul Seward for handling the Richmond IMAX event.
